One of India’s premiere institutes offering PG courses in Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad (EDI) is all set for a change in 2015. Prof. Sunil Shukla, Chief of Faculty at EDI, Ahmedabad will assume the post of a Director at the prestigious institute from July 1, 2015.

In his current role, Prof. Shukla has been instrumental in providing support to medium to large-sized firms with important aspects of entrepreneurship like strategic planning and capacity building. He focused on grooming managers as entrepreneurs and helped develop an ideal situation for corporate entrepreneurship. He is also a visiting faculty at various entrepreneurship institutes across the country.

Outgoing Director, Prof. Dinesh Awasthi, on the occasion of the 16th convocation ceremony of EDI made the announcement regarding the change in leadership. The convocation awarded 100 post-graduate Business Entrepreneurship and Development Studies students with the Diploma certificate. Mr. Hasmukh Adhia - Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Union Finance Ministry presided as the Guest of Honour for the event and emphasized that easy loans will be made available to entrepreneurs, especially ones who do not have the option of mortgaging their property. 

Another big development to look out for at EDI, Ahmedabad is the inauguration of a new education centre in the field of Entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan in July 2015. The primary objective institute will be to address the unemployment issue in the region. Other international campuses of EDI are located at Laos PDR, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.
