A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS). The agreement aims at greater cooperation in academic and cultural activities, leading to new avenues in research and curriculum development.
Chief guest on the occasion, Prof R Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, NLSIU welcomed this initiative. With the signing of MoU, VIPS seeks to expand intellectual capital and work hand-in-hand with NLSIU to further research and placement efforts. The MoU at VIPS was signed by Prof R Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, NLSIU, and Dr. S. C. Vats, Chairman, VIPS, on behalf of the respective institutions.
New developments proposed under the MoU are:
- Full time, regular as well as optional courses taught at these institutes will be offered to the students.
- PhD candidates in interdisciplinary areas of research from VIPS shall work under the supervision of the faculty members of NLSIU.
- Collaborative research work will be undertaken.
- Exchange of periodicals, journals etc, shall be made possible through the use of E- Library.
- Mutual cooperation will be sought in the field of student’s placement and thesis research work.
- Joint National and International Conferences on Law and Social Sciences will be organized.
- Faculty exchange programmes will be held.
- Student exchange programmes will be held.
For prospective Law students in Delhi/NCR, this will serve as the ideal platform to benefit from the rich experience of NLSIU.
