The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) will hold its “special supplementary examinations” on 1st & 2nd September 2012 for students of all its affiliated engineering colleges who have failed in the following subjects:
- Constitution of India and Professional Ethics (CIP71/81 / 06CIP18/28)
- Advanced Mathematics – I (MATDIP301) & Advanced Mathematics – II (MATDIP401)
- Environmental Studies - (06CIV18/28)
Who is eligible to take the VTU Special Supplementary Exams
- The students who have completed all the subjects required for the award of degree other than the above subjects can only apply for these examinations.
- The students left with any other subjects other than these subjects are not eligible to file examination application form for special supplementary examinations.

4) Aappa Inst. Gulbarga
5) Vidya Vikas Inst. of Engg. & Tech., Mysore
6) St. Joseph College, Mangalore
7) BIET, Davangere
The fee for the Special Supplementary Exams of VTU is Rs.125/- per subject.
About Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU)
VTU is one of the biggest Technological University in India, having 186 colleges affiliated to it with under graduate courses in 28 disciplines and post graduate programmes in 71 disciplines.
The intake of UG level is about 67100 students and about 12666 at the PG level. The University has 13 QIP Centres in various affiliated colleges and 16 Extension Centres offering PG Programmes. There are over 305 department across the affiliated colleges recognized as Research Centres. At present over 1800 students / faculty have registered for Ph.D. degree and over 180 students have registered for M.Sc.(Engg. by Research).
For the academic year 2009-10, the University has awarded Ph.D. degree to about 120 candidates and (M.Sc.(Engg.) degree to about 7 candidates. The University has MBA and M.Tech. Programmes at “Jnana Sangama”, Belgaum with more than 205 students.
