The Combined Defence Services (CDS) 2022 exam will be conducted by UPSC for aspirants to get selected as officers in Army (INA and OTA), Air Force (AFA) and Navy (INA). Male candidates can apply for IMA, INA, AFA and OTA whereas female candidates can only apply for OTA.

The CDS (I) 2022 exam will be a paper based examination conducted on one single day. The questions asked will be objective type. The following are the topics covered under each subject for the examination.

English

The questions in English will cover topics like Antonyms, Error Spotting, and Fill in the Blanks, Jumbled Sentences, Para Jumbles, Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction and Synonyms.

General Knowledge

Under General Knowledge, the candidate must be thorough with the current affairs, the matters from daily lives, and news, general science, history of India, geography and politics.

Elementary Mathematics

Elementary mathematics will cover topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mensuration and Statistics.

The candidates who are selected on the basis of the CDS (I) exam will further undergo an interview and an Intelligence Test (Verbal and Non-verbal). This will be done to assess their basic intelligence and mental calibre. They will go through group discussions, outdoor tasks and will have to give brief lectures on certain given subjects.
