UPES to launch new courses for the academic session 2013-14

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is launching new M. Tech course in Nuclear Science and Technology.

This course is specially designed for the study of all aspects of nuclear power such as nuclear engineering, nuclear plant design, reactor operations, nuclear waste management and the radiological applications of nuclear science. Focus has been given on overall development of practical knowledge to make the student immediately productive in several laboratories under the Department of Atomic Energy.

Programme is segregated into 4 semesters including practical sessions

Eligibility criteria for M. Tech in Nuclear Science and Technology

• Candidates should have minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)

• Should be B. Tech. / BE in any discipline with minimum 60% marks

Career options after completing the course

• Careers in laboratories functioning under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)

• Nuclear Reactor Operations/ Design Expert in Nuclear Power Plant

• Industries using non-destructive techniques for mechanical analysis of materials

• Nuclear Radiation Safety and Environmental Management

• Medical Sciences, Nuclear Medicine

• Consultancy
