University Institute of Engineering and Technology’s alumni meet of 2013

The maiden branch-specific event organized by the Alumni Affairs Office was an interaction for the students of electrical and electronics engineering (EEE) with a pass out of the 2012 batch, Mandisha Nagpal. It took place on April 17, 2013.

Mandisha had been working with her father, Mr. Depinder Singh, who is an industry expert and has worked in this field for 32 years. Their motive of coming to talk to the students was to enlighten them with the industrial demands from engineers and to gain feedback on their practical knowledge.

The event started off with Mandisha sharing experiences of her friends who weren't able to answer simple questions about the most basic instruments in interviews. “I don’t want you to go through the same”, she concluded and started a presentation about equipment they were familiar with.

She asked a few questions about the instruments that not all of them were able to answer. She talked about how the college needs to lay more emphasis on practical than theory.

Mandisha and her father later introduced the students to their set-up, where they provide students with training based on the equipment they study about in theory classes. The students would shortly be informed about the commencement of this program along with the procedure through which they can register.

It was a glimpse at the industrial appliance of theoretical and practical knowledge and the students had a positive response as they were eager to start working with Mandisha, an alumna of their own college from their own branch.
