University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chandigarh organized its first Alumni meet 2013

University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) organized its first alumni meet on April 11, 2013. University invited four different alums to interact with the students from different batches and branches. The event proved itself very helpful to the students as all the alums shared their experience about the world outside the campus. In this get together event they focused on certain point which will definitely help the students once they step to the practical world. They told the students not to study only for secured good marks without understand the concept thoroughly. To get rid of monotonous IT jobs, they suggested the students to stick to their individual dreams. Practical works are also important, said the alums. They also thanked this college to teach them how to live a life with passion.

About the University:

The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) is an engineering institute of Punjab University, Chandigarh. It offers undergraduate (BE), postgraduate (dual degree BE+MBA, M.Tech degree) as well as doctoral courses. The institute is granted funds from the central government to improve its infrastructure and facilities. UIET has interactions and Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with industry and academia like Infosys, IBM, IMTECH, Bharti Group (Bharti Chair for research), and Sun Microsystems.

UIET offers four-year Bachelor of Engineering courses and five-year integrated BE/Master of Business Administration courses in Biotechnology, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. Master of Engineering courses are offered in the same areas except Biotechnology Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. UIET offers full time Ph.D courses in all discipline of Engineering. Admission to BE courses are made on the basis of AIEEE rank, for Master of Engineering there is GATE exam and for PhD exam there are GATE and University Ph.D Entrance Test to select the eligible candidates.
