It might have been a cold and dreary day for Delhiites but the weather failed to dampen the spirits of the organizers of Ullas 2015 in Kamala Nehru College, which began with a lot of pomp and show. The event was kick-started with solo and group dance performances by the dance society, Nupur.
The sheer beauty of the attire and expressions of the performers was highly appreciated by the audience. In a closely judged competition, Prathima Ghosh from Daulat Ram College bagged the first position while the second position was shared by Keerti Venkat and Arpita of Gargi College. While the solo performances were delicate, the group performances were exhilarating and got everyone of their feet.
The next event was Nrityakriti, a choreography competition organized by Adaigo. There was Indian solo and Choir music competition under the heads Swaranjali and Sangeetika respectively, organized by the Indian Music Society of KNC. The fashion show La 'Vore, conducted by the Fashion society of KNC was the most awaited event of the day. The event was themed around pressing societal issues and participants judged by the uniqueness of their costumes. The 1st day of the event was concluded with Srijan, the Hindi creative writing competition and Abhivyakti, the Hindi debate competition
Day 2 of the event began with the western dance competition “Ol’ That Jazz” which infused new energy levels into the audience and spectators. Keeping up the tempo, the college band 'The Rumored Project' belted out an energetic performance. There were interim events throughout the day but the most awaited event was a live performance by famous singer KK who mesmerized the crowd with his songs.
