Vellor Institute of Technology, VIT University will conduct a training programme on Computations and Calculations in Molecular Biology on January 23-24, 2014.

The participants will be trained to solve problems related to calculations involving DNA, RNA and proteins. The training also includes wet lab and experiments to apply the mathematical calculations, compare and contrast between expected and observed results to understand molecular biology from a different dimension.

The participants will also be trained in basic computational analyses like genome mining for gene prediction, transcription factor binding sites, validating PCR primers, dealing with sequences, submitting sequences to NCBI etc.

There will be interactive sessions on both of the training and the interactive participant (s) will receive awards.

This is open to Masters level students and Research Scholars from all branches of life sciences.

Participation is based on a selection procedure. Interested candidates were requested to email their candidature before December 20, 2013.

Registration Fee:

Registration fee for the training programme is Rs. 200
