The Outdoor Marketing team of TEDxSIBM Bangalore which consisted of about 30 volunteers carried out a “TED walk” in Electronic City, Phase-I on February 8, 2014. The students of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Bangalore were highly enthusiastic with the event.
The volunteers covered a distance of about 4 km in duration of one and a half hours. The students were in a dress code of Red & Black and had worn masks which garnered a lot of attention from the people in the area. The walk was organised with an intention of spreading the word about the event.
About TEDx, x independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks, videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussions and connections in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations)

TEDx SIBM Bangalore this year is bigger and better with a lot of exciting speakers gracing the occasion. Stalwarts from various fields will be speaking about their area of expertise.
Nishu Dixit, Student Vice-President of SIBM Bangalore says, “The response to the walk was absolutely great with many people stopping the volunteers to enquire about the event. It was a unique initiative as it was a silent walk and just the way the volunteers were dressed got all the attention during rush hours.”
