With the mission to advance knowledge and educate students in science, Technology, and other areas so that to best serve the nation in future, Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology marked its existence in September, 2000.

It is a self financing institute under the registered trust Raj Kumar Goal Educational Foundations. The institute is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University (Formerly UP Technical University), NOIDA for B. Tech., B. Pharm., M.C.A., & M.B.A. RKGIT is a UPTU study centre for their M. Pharm and M. Tech (ECE) programs. It is also counselling centre for State Entrance Exam of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (SEE-UPTU).

Admission to RKGIT is strictly based on entrance test conducted by the University on behalf of the College. 85% admission done on the basis of entrance test and remaining 15% seats, candidates can apply for direct admission to the RKGIT. Admission will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in qualifying exam and /or respective entrance exam as per the policies of the University.
