Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2012 by Anna University Chennai: Admission Notification

Anna University, Tamil Nadu is a unitary type premier university in Tamil Nadu. It offers various courses in allied sciences, engineering and technology in accordance to current needs of the society.

Anna University invites applications for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2012 for admission to MBA, MCA, M.E., M.Tech, M.Arch. and M.Plan programmes offered by colleges and institutes in Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility for TANCET 2012

Eligibility criterion for all the courses is different:

Eligibility for MBA

You must have atleast 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in Bachelor’s degree from a recognised with at the qualifying examination in 10+2+3 years pattern or 10+3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern or B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm. or AMIE with 2 years regular full time Teaching experience / Industrial experience in the relevant field after passing all the subjects.

Eligibility for MCA

You must have atleast 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in 10+2+3/4 years or 10+3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern in any discipline with Mathematics at +2 level at the qualifying examination.

Eligibility for M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan.

• You are not eligible to apply for TANCET 2012, if you are admitted through lateral entry in degree courses (except B.E. / B.Tech. degree courses)
• You are not eligible to apply for TANCET 2012, if you have obtained B.E. / B.Tech. / M.C.A. / M.Sc. degrees through week-end courses and B.E./B.Tech. through distance mode.
• You are eligible to apply for TANCET 2012, if you are appearing for final year or semester examination of the above qualifying degree in April / May 2012.

Application Procedure for TANCET 2012

• There is one common TANCET 2012 application form for all subjects.
• You have to submit only one application form even if you desire to appear in TANCET 2012 for more than one course.
• You have to pay a fee of Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate in card format) for TANCET 2012. You have to pay Rs. 500/- for every additional programme.

Spot Registration for TANCET 2012

• You can obtain hall ticket for TANCET 2012 in person from Co-ordinating Centre by submitting a copy of your 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet or 3 year diploma certificate and demand draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of ‘The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University,’ payable at Chennai.

Registration through Internet for TANCET 2012

• You can also register for TANCET 2012 by logging on to official website of TANCET 2012 (www.annauniv.edu/tancet2012).
• You can download the completely filled application form for TANCET 2012 and send it with photocopies of required documents and demand draft of Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of ‘The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University,’ payable at Chennai.
• You can send the duly filled application form to
