State-of-art Nursing College to be set up in Bangalore

The IT city of Bangalore will soon see a modern nursing college cum hostel at Indiranagar in Bangalore. Union Minister of Labor and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge laid the foundation stone of ESIC Nursing College and Auditorium on February 5^th, in a gala function attended by Karnataka’s Minister of Labor, B.N. Bacchegowda. Speaking at the function, Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Employees State Insurance Corporation’s (ESIC) was committed to work for the welfare of workers and improve their quality of life and provide social security to them.

This medical facility is being built with the objective to provide the best medical education. It is part of the Rajajinagar Medical Education complex and will have 25 annual admissions and a 1000-seater auditorium once completed.

The official press release for this nursing college said, ‘The Nursing College/hostel project will have state of the art facilities including a separate reception cum waiting hall for hostel and college, dining, reception/reading room, administrative areas, lecture theatres, laboratories and multipurpose hall. The Auditorium project will have a capacity of 1000 persons, reception/pre-function area/VIP lobby. The total build up area of this project is around 16000 sqm and will be completed in 12 months. The estimated cost of this project is around Rs. 82.00 crores.’

It further said, ‘The Corporation itself is bearing the entire cost of super specialty treatment and ensures that no bill from tie up hospital is kept pending and in the process has spent about Rs. 151 crores in last one year. The ESI Corporation now owns a huge infrastructure and provides benefit through 147 Hospitals, 42 Hospitals Annexes, 1402 ESI Dispensaries, 1540 Panel Clinics, 797 Branch/Pay Offices and 52 Regional/Sub-Regional/Divisional Offices’.
