Recently adjudged the best Science College in India by an India Today survey, St. Stephen’s College, Delhi now plans to foray into management education as well.
It has decided to launch a centre for management studies (to be known as St. Stephen’s Institute for Management Excellence – SSIME) with a US-based organization (NGO Mudrika Education Inc) set up by a former student Sanjay Seigal. SSIME is scheduled to start its session from October 2011 and it will be offering a 4-month short term Accelerated Development Program (ADP) for working executives. The fee for this course would be Rs 2.5 lakh.
According to Valson Thampu, principal of St. Stephen’s College, the course intends to give intense training on management. Distinguished faculty members associated with Mudrika will impart training. Mudrika Education Inc is a professionally managed organisation with expertise in management.
Former Delhi University vice-chancellor Deepak Pental said the certificates for such short-term courses certificates will be awarded by the college and not Delhi University.
