SRIJAN: Formula-Style Motorsport Racing Team of BIT, Mesra

"Team SRIJAN”, the official formula-style motorsport racing team of BIT Mesra, shipped its newly manufactured FSAE car BMR051 to Varano 'de Melegari, ITALY, for the upcoming Formula ATA Italy, 2013, to be held from September 13-16, 2013.

11 members of the 34-strong team will be visiting Italy to represent their institution, which will be one of the six teams representing India at this annual student level competition that tests auto-mobile engineering, technical design, alongside rationality and practicality of taking engineering decisions, and above all reliability and performance of the race-car.

The fourth and the latest car from Srijan, christened as BMR051, is powered by a Royal Enfield 499cc EFI single cylinder engine with a modified intake assembly that can deliver a maximum power of 23 bhp, while the car weight has been pegged at a competitive 280 kilograms.
