In order to provide professional education to the students of information technology (IT), Delhi University has declared that it will set up a software park on campus by the new academic session.

DU has collabrated with the Software Technology Park of India (STPI) to construct the park at the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC).

The idea behind setting up the park is to provide maximum exposure to students in the realm of IT by helping them engage with real world problems and gain hands-on learning, reported a leading daily.

According to STPI officials, the programmes offered by academic institutions and the industry developments are disconnected.

This problem, they believe, can be addressed by the software park , which will be like an eco-system where students and faculty are well connected with real industry processes and experiments.

Sanjeev Singh, project co-ordinator, Institute of Informatics and Communication (IIC), DU, said exposure to all flavours of technology is important for students in universities in India.
