SOIL introduces course to help women who’ve taken a break to get back on track

There is good news for women who take a sabbatical from work and then struggle to get back into the working mode. The School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL), a business school, is offering a 1 year programme called “Career Reconnect for Women” that will enable women to gain insight into relevant and contemporary areas of business that will help them rejoin corporate life or start their own entrepreneurial venture.

A statement issued by SOIL stated “A large pool of educated women today is consciously putting their career on hold for raising family. When she decides to return to work and resume her career, she deals with issues such as making up for her time away from work and explaining the gap in the employment history. Understanding the increasing career aspirations of Indian women, the changing mindsets of women and their families and the rising importance of a higher education qualification among the nation's youth, SOIL has introduced a specialized course dedicated to women”
The programme includes an Individual Development Plan where in the student go through psychometric assessments. The programme is also mentor driven, in which every student will be guided by a woman mentor.

The other features of this programme include “Application Focus” in which it will be seen if students can apply concepts that they learn and “Action Learning” where students will work on real life projects.

While the course itself is of 6 weeks' duration, it will be spread across one year. The total fee for the programme, which will begin in August 2011, is Rs.7,46,950 that includes accommodation and meals.
