University Business School (UBS) and ICSSR jointly invite academics, researchers, doctoral students, and practitioners, to contribute papers based on “Skill Development for Workplace”. Seminar will be on September 26, 2013.
Enterprises seek Employability Skills for screening and assessing a multitude of candidates. As a result, learners and candidates need to know what these skills are and how to demonstrate them. Venue for the seminar will be ICSSR Complex, Punjab University.
This seminar cum conference intends to discuss honing such critical skills of the students and making them more employable.
Following is an indicative list of topics:
• Development of basic and employability skills
• Role of education systems in meeting employers’ needs for skills
• Role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in delivering employability skills
• Effect of a lack of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills on a person’s employability and the extent and causes of and responses to the problem
• Engagement with training among low-skilled workers
• Innovations in skill development methodologies
• Impact of cultural factors on development of basic and employability skills
• The utility of general versus applied approaches to basic skills development
Submission Guidelines:
• Abstract must not exceed 300 words. Abstracts and paper must be sent to skillsdev2013@gmail.com.
• The submission needs to be in word or PDF format.
Important dates for the seminar:
• Deadline for Abstracts: September 15, 2013
• The decision of reviewers indicating acceptance of abstract will be communicated by September 20, 2013.
