Given the course of events, SOL is fast emerging as a ray of hope for students who do not meet the high criteria of the colleges. And that is why, SOL, which receives about 300,000 applications annually is expecting a considerable number of applications this year. SOL provides courses in humanities and commerce streams through distance learning.

Started in 1962, SOL had just 900 students. Since then the number has increased by hundreds of thousands. This can be attributed to the unlimited number of seats, provided you meet the cut-off, which is mere a 40%. Not just that, the admission procedure is very simple.

Though SOL offers distance learning, the students pursuing courses through SOL have various advantages:

• They can simultaneously pursue another course or vocation
• Will still inherit the prestigious Delhi University tag
• Work while they study
• No age bar

Another advantage is that if a student is preparing for other courses like CA, he/ she can join SOL and concentrate on the preparation. Sol just requires students to attend the classes held on weekends. Attendance is mandatory.

How Does SOL work?

SOL distributes printed course material to its students for both Commerce and Arts courses for both undergraduate and post graduate degrees.
