S.P.M.U.N. 2015 has 3 committees - ECOFIN (Economic and Financial Committee), DISEC (Disarmament and Security Council) and HRC (Human Rights Council).

ISIS the dreaded organization around the world for its exploits across the Middle East has run havoc across the world. It threatens to spill over to neighbouring countries if unattended. Border disputes have always been a bone of contention post the Cold War around the Russian region. Crimean crisis is not a new addition however continues to threaten of an eminent catastrophe. Urgent attention of the international community is the need of the hour and hence S.P.M.U.N. 2015 discusses Crimea.

ECOFIN

• Setting up of an alternative universal currency
• Financial security in cyber space

Under the present economic situation with crumbling economies and unsustainable growth, the 2 agendas are highly relevant. Speculations are rife about the credibility of the present international currency – US Dollar and hence an alternative to this is a matter of great significance especially for the emerging global economies. With cyber security being the crux of recent technological talks, a financial dimension will greatly enhance the participants at large.

HRC

• Human Rights violations by ISIS against Iraqi and Syrian civilians
• Addressing the rights of HIV-AIDS patients and their elevation from discriminatory violations 

ISIS crisis in Syria and Iraq has been in the headlines for a long time now. However international interventions in terms of military assistance or international pressure has been the outcome of most debates and deliberations. A humanitarian point of view is more than welcome to understand the gravity of situation and to look for plausible solutions. HIV AIDS – (Human Immuno Virus – Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) – patients diagnosed with HIV still bear the brunt of discrimination in certain sections of soceity. An honest analysis of the causes and immediate addressal for making them feel as a part of the social fabric will augur well for humanity as a whole.
