Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University invites applications for Research Fellowship

The University Grand Commission (UGC), New Delhi has awarded five research fellowships to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. Department of Biotechnology has invited applications from eligible candidates for the fellowship for the year 2012-13.Total number of fellowship is 5, 3 for general, 1 for SC and 1 for ST. Students are requested to submit the application from along with bio data and photo copies of all relevant documents on or before due date.

Eligibility Criteria

This fellowship is for those meritorious students who have registered for Ph.D (Biotechnology) in Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.

This fellowship is preferable for GATE qualified candidates but non GATE candidates also can apply. UGC has set different structure of fellowship for GATE and non GATE candidates. For non GATE candidates

1st and 2nd year

• Fellowship= Rs. 14000/-pm
• Contingency=Rs. 12000/-pm
• HRA as per University rule

3rd, 4th and 5th year

• Fellowship=Rs.16000/-pm
• Contingency=Rs. 25000/-pm
• HRA as per University rule

For GATE qualified candidates

1st and 2nd year

• Fellowship=Rs. 16000/-pm
• Contingency=Rs.1 2000/pm
• HRA as per University rule

3rd, 4th and 5th year

• Fellowship=Rs. 18000/-pm
• Contingency=Rs. 25000/pm
• HRA as per University rule

Tenure of the fellowship

The fellowship is for two years initially. During this tenure the work of the fellow will be evaluated by the supervisor. If the research work is found satisfactory, tenure of fellowship will be extended for another 3 years. In case of unsatisfactory research work, students will be provided an additional year for improvement.
