SAAT 2012: Courses and Eligibility

Siksha O Anusandhan University Admission Test 2012 (SAAT 2012) is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by Siksha O Anusandhan University, Orissa for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs like B.Tech., MBBS,  B.Pharma., M.Tech., MCA, MBA, etc. offered by the University.

Courses and Eligibility Criteria for SAAT 2012

SAAT 2012 is conducted for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate and lateral entry courses.

Eligibility for SAAT 2012 for Undergraduate Courses

The eligibility criteria for SAAT 2012 for undergraduate programmes like B.Tech., BDS, MBBS, B.Pharm, Hotel Management, Nursing and Law is:

B.Tech.

• You must have scored 45% in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Biology, Informatics or Statistics
• You must have Diploma in Engineering or Technology with less than 60% marks in aggregate

MBBS and BDS

• You must be of 17 years of age
• You must have 10+2 examination or any equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology

B. Pharm

• You must have scored 45% marks in 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology and Information Technology.
• You must have Diploma in Pharmacy with less than 60% marks.

BHMCT

• You must have scored 45% marks in 10+2 examination in any discipline.

B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic)

• You must be of 17 years of age.
• You must have passed 10+2 examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subject and obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate.

B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic)

• You must have passed GNM examination and registered with concerned State Nursing Council.  
• You must be a member of TNAI
• Five years integrated BBA LLB Honours Programme 
• You must be of 21 years of age
• You must have passed 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with atleast 45% marks

Eligibility for SAAT 2012 for Postgraduate Courses

The eligibility criteria for SAAT 2012 for postgraduate programmes like M.Tech., MCA, MBA, M.Sc. and LLM is:  

M.Tech.

• You must pass B.E. / B.Tech / AMIE /MCA/M.Sc. in the respective discipline or equivalent.
• You have scored 50% marks in qualifying exam.
• If you want pursue M.Tech. in Biotechnology, you must have passed B.Tech./B.E. in Biotechnology or related fields.
• To pursue M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science, you must have passed MBBS, B.Pharm. or B.V.Sc. with Biology as a subject at 10+2 level.
• For M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Data Processing, you must have MCA degree.
• For M.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering and M.Tech. in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, you must have passed M.Sc. (Electronics).
• You must have passed M.Sc. in Computer Science and IT to pursue M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering and CS & IT. 
• You must have passed B.Tech. (Environmental / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical / Metallurgy) or M.Sc. (Environmental Science / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Geology / Life Science / Botany / Zoology) to pursue M.Tech. in Environmental Science & Technology. 
• For M.Tech. Material Science & Technology, you must have passed M.Sc. (Physics) / M.Sc. (Chemistry) / B.Tech. (Electronics & Communication Engg.) / B.Tech (Electrical Engg.)
• For admission to M.Tech, candidates have to pass the qualifying examination with atleast 50% marks.
• You are eligible to seek admission in M.Tech. Programme, if you have cleared GATE 2012.

MCA

• You must have passed a Bachelor Degree in any discipline from any recognised University with atleast 45% of marks.
• You must have Mathematics at 10+2 level or at +3 level 
• You are not eligible for MCA, if you have Business mathematics at +2 or +3 level.

MBA/ MHMCT/ MHA

• You must have passed Bachelor Degree in Science, Commerce and Arts/ B.E./B.Tech./MBBS/BHMS/BAMS/BDS/BPT/BHMCT/ BBA/BCA or equivalent from any recognised University with atleast 45% marks.
• You are eligible to seek admission in MBA, if you have given MAT exam.

M.Pharm.

• You must have passed B.Pharm examination from any recognized University with atleast 50% marks
• You are eligible to seek admission to M.Pharm., if you have valid GPAT score.

M.Sc. in Biotechnology

• You must have passed Bachelor degree in Science or four year Bachelor degree in Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary / Engineering / Technology / Medicine (MBBS/BDS) from any recongnised University with atleast 45% marks.

M.Sc. in Nursing

• You must have passed B.Sc. Nursing (Basic/Post Basic) Degree with 55% aggregate from a Institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of one year experience either in teaching or clinical area.
• You should be registered in State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.

LLM

• You must have passed Bachelor Degree in Law or studied Integrated Law Course or equivalent from any recognized University with 50% Marks in aggregate.

Eligibility for SAAT 2012 for Lateral Entry Programmes

• For admission to 2nd year Degree Programme in Engineering, Pharmacy & Hotel Management, you must have passed three year diploma course in Engineering / Pharmacy and Hotel Management respectively with at least 60% marks in aggregate from State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTE&VT), Odisha or equivalent.
• For admission in Pharmacy, you must have passed two year diploma course in Pharmacy with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from Orissa State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP) or SCTE&VT, Odisha, or equivalent.
