iCarnegie, powered by Carnegie Mellon University, USA, has signed a deal with 27 colleges in the country, four of them from Bangalore, to give students hands-on experience in robotics. In this regard, the university has joined hands with Technophilia Systems.
Engineering students to get practical exposure that matches international standards in robotics. Carnegie Mellon University, the leading institute for robotics, computer science and artificial intelligence, will be setting up labs in all these colleges to give hands-on education to students in robotics.
The course will cost Rs 4,950 per semester, which will include fees for the course, internship, certification, seminars and competitions.
Hiral Sanghvi, Managing Director of Technophilia Systems said that they will be integrating their course with robotics, computer science and mechanical engineering and will make them productive from the first day they enter the industry.
With an investment of about Rs 6 crore, the institute will be setting up labs inside the colleges. They have designed the curriculum in sync with the Visvesvaraya Technological University. The students will be learning what they have learnt inn theory in practical in the labs.
Vice-president of global business development, iCarnegie, said, “Today we need workers who are effective from day one. We are helping universities develop that kind of workforce.”
This programme will offer eight courses, one course per semester. Each course is of 45 hours and includes practical project development.
