Rhapsody- a two day annual fest of Maitreyi College kick started on January 29, 2015.
The fest was inaugurated by chief guest Mr Manoj Tiwari, very popular face from bhojpuri cinema also, MP from BJP. Variety of exciting events and competitions were lined up for students like Ad mad, framed- on the spot photography competition, sursangam, face painting, etc.
Here's a sneak peek into some of the most fun happenings.
INTIFADA- hosted by the dramatic society of Maitreyi College "Abhivyakti", the thought provoking nukkad naataks performed by various colleges were aimed for the audience to become more sensitive and aware of the evils residing in the society we live in.
Match the beat- western dance competition gathered much crowd as DU has variety of entertaining dancing societies. Jesus and Mary college acquired Ist position where as Kamla Nehru giving good competition, were the first runner up. Competition ended with performance by maitreyi college's dance society "zeal".
Band VYOM- day one of the fest ended with vyom which had girls dancing like crazy on old songs with peppy touch like- "pyaar hume kis mod pe le aaya" .
Second day had huge crowd from students from different colleges coming. Reason was obvious DJ Nucleya of sunburn fame and RJ Yuvi of radio city 91.1 FM. DJ Nucleya got the crowd swooning in no time whereas RJ Yuvi got girls on their knees with his witty liners.
Other events like panache- fashion show hosted by 'galore'- fashion society of Maitreyi College had a thoughtful theme addressing issues like poaching, hunting, etc.; framed- online selfie contest, Taal- Indian dance competition.
Any fest is no good without good food! Fest had stalls from caffe 9, cafe immigrant and others serving lip smacking momos, gol gappe and other exotic stuff.
Overall Rhapsody was way better than last year's and gave good time to boys and girls from various colleges!
