The Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) was held on January 16, 2011 and the Personality Test was held between 18 and 26 July, 2011. This examination is conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC). Through this exam, candidates can get coveted government jobs.

The Services/ Post recruitments made through CMS include:

  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officers in the Railways
  • Junior scale posts in Indian Ordinance Factories Health Services
  • Junior scale posts in Central Health Services
  • Medical Officers in Municipal Corporation of Delhi
  • General Duty Medical Officers in NDMC

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pass marks in the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination
  • Candidates appearing at the final MBBS Examination are also eligible to apply. They will be adjudged on the result of the written part and practical part of the examination, which they will be required to submit as proof later on. They also need to show the detailed application form (to be filled up at that stage).

Note - A candidate who has yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is educationally eligible for admission to the examination but on selection he will be appointed only after he has completed the compulsory rotating internship.

A total number of 352 candidates appeared for the Combined Medical Services Exam 2011, of which 56 General Candidates (including 08 Physically Challenged candidates), 121 candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (including 03 Physically Challenged candidates), 46 Scheduled Caste and 29 Scheduled Tribe candidates. Please note that appointments will be made on the basis of the total number of vacancies available. In addition, candidates must have had filled their forms correctly, fulfilling all prescribed eligibility conditions and verifications.

Good news awaits those candidates whose names have not appeared in the result list this time (even though you may have passed it). In accordance with Rule 13 & 14 of the Rules of the Combined Medical Services Exam., 2011, the Commission is maintaining a consolidated Reserve List of 41 candidates which includes 06 General, 34 Other Backward Classes and 01 Scheduled Caste candidates, just in case anyone backs out.

How To Get The Result

  • Visit the official website of UPSC (marks are likely to be available after 15 days from the day of the declaration of result)
  • The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has a facilitation counter near the Examination Hall building in its campus, from where candidates can procure all information / clarification regarding their result. This facility is available on all working days (Monday – Saturday) between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
  • Candidates can call 011 - 23381125/23385271/23098543 during the aforementioned timings for details.
  • If a candidate is desirous to get a hard copy of the mark sheet, he/ she can put the request forward o the Commission along with a self-addressed stamped envelope within a period of thirty days from the date of publication of the result.
