‘College Fest’...this word is enough to bring zeal to the youth, especially when it comes to the most happening girls' institute in Lucknow.
The latest event that soared the spirits of yet every proud ITian was a two-day fest, "Rang Manch 2013", held on November 7-8, 2013, the first of its kind in Isabella Thoburn College.
Isabella Thoburn College, much famous as IT College. The name says it all. Being the first major institute for women in Asia, now 127 years of age, this college needs no introduction, unless you're a complete newbie to the city of Nawabs and Kebabs. Yes, you guessed it right! Lucknow.
Long list of students, right from the fresh newcomers to the soon-to-be-leaving final year students were active participants, who showcased versatile talents in front of their subject teachers as well as fellow students. Their performances were undoubtedly worth a watch, corroborating the fact that IT College is a bosom replete with talent and innovation.
The two-day long event was a tough one consisting of activities such as Salad-making, face painting, a rangoli competition, mehendi designs, creative poetry, a debate, and singing and dancing competitions. With hordes of girls queuing up for participation, only those that showed great endeavour were selected.
The selected participants were then tested according to the four houses that form the backbone of almost every competition held in the prestigious institute: Sarojini House, Laxmi House, Razia House, and Nichol's House (restricted only to hostel occupants).
After many rounds of tough competition and judging, Razia House emerged the winner, amidst the high-decibel sounds of cheering and hooting by the overtly-elated and jovial students who cheered for their champions.
An encouraging speech by honourable principal, Dr. Vinita Prakash, marked the end of the fest on November 8, the final day.
