Rajasthan Technical University: Short term course 2013

A short term course on Optimization Techniques for Engineering Applications was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering on May 8-12, 2013.

Optimizations techniques are now very much famous in system identification, modeling, controls and data mining. These techniques are also used in different engineering applications and it is essential to know in and out of the Optimizing Techniques and to well versed to apply it in engineering aspects.

Rajasthan Technical University organized a short term course on Optimizing Techniques for faculty and students. The course helps the mentors to further deliver its content to the students.

This course aims to train the faculty and students to learn these techniques to the extent that enable to utilize this knowledge in the workplace as well as graduate education leading to a research and development oriented career.

Major content of this course are as below:

• Fundamental and Optimization

• Single and multi objective optimization

• Fundamentals of nature inspired optimization techniques

• Genetic Algorithm (GA) and application

• Differential Evolution (DE)

• Particle Swam Optimization (PSO)

• Ant Colony Optimization (ACO)

• Artificial Bee Colony (ABC)

• Artificial Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic

University had also arranged for accommodation on first come first serve basis for the participants in Institute’s faculty guest house on advanced request. Faculty and students related to this course were invited to attend this course.
