Punjabi University, Patiala organises National Seminar on ‘Emergence of Modern Society: Role of Law’

Department of Law under Punjabi University, Patiala is organising a two-day national seminar on ‘Emergence of Modern Society: Role or Law' on November 3-4, 2012 at Punjabi university campus.

The purpose of this seminar is to provide a platform to academicians, lawyers and students to ponder upon issues of immense significance in contemporary scenario and its repercussions in future.

Tentative Sub- Themes:

• Changing Contours of various provisions of Constitution
• Emerging trends in Family Law
• Developing trends in Criminal Law
• Role of judiciary in protecting environment
• Changing Spectrum of public interest litigation in India
• Weaker sections of society of law
• Judicial activism
• Changing horizons of Right to Information
• Human Rights in India: Rhetoric and Reality
• Growth of ADR in India
• Emerging trends in Intellectual Property Law
• Legal Aid and legal literacy
• Any other topic relating to the main theme of seminar

Registration Procedure:
Participants are required to submit an abstract through e-mail director of the seminar pushpinderkaurdhillon@yahoo.in latest by October 25, 2012.

Fees:
For teachers: Rs 500
For Scholars: Rs 300
