Concentration is taking one’s mind out of many things and putting it on one thing at a time. Very often students suffer from lack of concentration and cannot stand up to their and parent’s expectations.
These 5 focus tips can help you concentrate better -- whether you're working in a busy office, studying at school, sitting in a meeting, or trying to finish a project.
Watch Other People Concentrating:
You can try this in a movie hall. In the middle of the movie, watch the people around you. Most of their eyes are fixed on the screen, barely blinking and no other elements can break their concentration. There is a hint for you to increase yours too.
If not the movie hall, try this at home. Look at a painting on your wall and try focusing on it. If you can pull off 5 minutes in a week, without your concentration wavering even once, you are doing good.
Reward Yourself:
Concentration is not something that you can build up overnight. Have some patience. For deeper concentration make your studies interesting, or at least create good rewards for yourself that will make you more motivated to finish, like get a good book, a chocolate or ice cream to celebrate homework completed.
Take breaks:
You should often take breaks if you are doing something hectic or time taking. For example, office goers have to sit for a fixed 8 – 10 hours daily. Similarly, as students, you are expected to spend long hours in the classrooms or laboratories. If you are preparing for a national level exam, then continuous hours of study can take a toll on your levels of concentration. Take breaks; go outside, take a few deep breaths or you can walk too. If it helps, FaceBook or watch TV for a while or play a game. This will help you to re-concentrate and lead you back to what you were doing.
