PayPal (Digital Wallet) Hires 80 IIT Graduates: IIT Placements Notification

PayPal acts like a digital wallet where you can securely store all your payment options, such as your bank account and credit card. When you want to make a payment, you don't have to pull out your credit card or type your billing info every time.

PayPal has become one of the largest recruiters in 2012 by hiring 80 engineering graduates in its first visit to IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology). This is one of the highest numbers recruited by multinational product company from IITs this year.

PayPal will approximately pay Rs 7 lakh P.A. The new recruits will be focusing on product development and are currently in an eight-week ‘boot' camp with 12/14-hour daily training.

‘Digital wallet’ is a synonym for PayPal where its 110 million users globally can store all their payment options; it enables global e-commerce. This US-based company has around 2,250 employees in their Chennai office and is planning to add another 900 before the first quarter of 2013 and a proposal to open an office in Bangalore which will employ about 1000 candidates in the next three to five years is also in the pipeline.

The new recruits joined the company at their Chennai office on 4th June, 2012 and received laptops too. They will be on a ‘boot’ camp with 12 to 14 hours of training per day for eight weeks before they are assigned their centres of expertise at Boston, Shanghai, San Jose or Chennai.

PayPal became a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay.
