Paper-Pencil Format for JEE Advanced 2014

In a meeting conducted on Sunday, 15 Sept 2013, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) decided to continue with the paper-pencil format for JEE (Advanced) 2014.

Previously, JAB had planned that the pattern of JEE Advanced will be changed from pen-paper to computer-based.

However, it has now been decided that JEE Advanced will be conducted in paper-pencil format, reports a leading daily.

"There will no changes for the 2014 exams. We will follow a systematic approach before implementing the computer-based test. The board will set up a committee to study the online process and only then will implement it in future," said NK Panigrahi, JEE-Advanced 2014 chairman.

In 2013, JEE Advanced exam had been conducted in both pen-pencil and computer-based format.

While the JEE (Mains) is likely to be held on April 6, JEE (Advanced) exam is likely to be conducted on May 25. It has been decided that JEE 2014 will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur.
