Maitreyi College welcomed their freshers on July 19, 2022. The event started with the lighting of the lamp and ‘Sarasvati Vandana’ sung by the Indian Music society of the college, ‘Riyaaz’.
As the programme proceeded, the Vice Principal had a really motivating and inspirational talk with the students to boost up the juniors to make the best out of the coming three years in college.
Head teachers from the NAAC Committee (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), Anti-Ragging Committee, Star Status College Committee, NCC, NSS, and Library were amongst the many who briefed the girls about what comes next. Some faces were so excited to know about the e-books, how close NSS brings them towards the welfare of the society. While their seniors definitely had, one-liners cheer them up all the more.
The orientation was different this time. Keeping in mind the great response in admissions the college had, instead of one, the orientation happened in four different rooms. The programme was going on in the Seminar room, however ‘live telecast’ of the same was being shown in the other rooms. Again, it was a tech-savvy way and was a new experience for the staff as well as the students.
Later, the students headed towards their respective course rooms. They had their first official meeting with their department teachers today, after their admission. There was so much to learn and understand. It really was an enlightening experience.
The members from various societies introduced the students. It gave the students an idea about how they can audition, how things work within the societies.
There was a different kind of enthusiasm and excitement amongst the students today. They seemed a lot more comfortable and were trying to familiarise themselves with their surroundings. We definitely look forward to welcoming their smiling faces to college tomorrow, on 20th July.
