All the students at Delhi University (DU) who prefer unconventional courses to the by-the-book courses, now have a chance to check their compatibility with these innovative courses at Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC). CIC goes by the ways of Meta College under which the students are given the freedom to choose papers, which they would like to study.
An aspirant of DU, states that he could not get admission in B Tech due to the sky high cut offs. He then figured, giving CIC a go would be a good idea and option. “The course at CIC is very interesting and will provide me with much needed exposure. They judge the students on the basis of the entrance exam and interview which is a fair process,” he said.
Another student who wanted to join CIC with BTech in Humanities feels, he will be equipped to learn various sectors of the subject, thanks to this course. “I will get the freedom to choose any stream and studying at a different college will be another experience altogether. I will not get this kind of opportunity in any other regular course,” he also said.
The faculty members are answering queries of the students and providing them with proper counseling.
“Students and parents have been approaching us with all sorts of queries and we are trying our best to solve their doubts. Both the courses are innovative and have good future prospects. Students enjoy freedom in terms of selecting their theoretical papers and project work,” said a faculty member on condition of anonymity.
Only students who have enrolled with DU with a regular are eligible to opt for CIC. For B Tech in Humanities students who have taken admission in DU, School of Open Learning and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board are eligible to apply.
CIC presents students with an opportunity to design their own degree. There are 40 seats available in each of the course.
Important Dates:
- Last date for submission of application forms: July 15, 2013
- Entrance test: July 21, 2013
Forms are available on CIC and DU’s official websites.
