NIPER 2015 to be held on 7th June, 2015 for admission to Masters Programmes across India

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the apex institution that offers advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. NIPER was set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India to provide par excellence education not only India but also in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. NIPER is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.

The post graduate programmes offered under NIPER 2015 includes M.S (Pharmacy), Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm), M. Tech (Pharmacy), Pharmaceutical Technology (Biotechnology), Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulations), Pharmaceutical Technology (Process Chemistry) and M. S Pharmacy (Pharmacology & Toxicology.

The first NIPER was set up at Mohali in Punjab. Over the years, the GOI has created 6 more NIPER’s with the help of mentor institutes. The various NIPER institutions in India are located at:

• NIPER - Guwahati (Mentor Institute- Government Medical College, Guwahati)

• NIPER - Raebareli (Mentor Institute- Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow)

Eligibility Criteria to apply for NIPER 2015 for Master’s Programme:

• Student should have passed the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA of 6.75 on a 10 point scale wherever grades are awarded or equivalent
• Valid GPAT/GATE/NET score card of a candidate should be valid at the time of counseling/Group Discussion and Interview) is an essential qualification for all programme [including M.B.A (Pharm.)

Exemptions in eligibility criteria for NIPER 2015:

• Foreign Nationals
• Sponsored candidates from public/private sector undertaking, Govt. departments and research and development organizations

Admission Procedure for NIPER 2015

M.S. (Pharm.); M.Pharm and M.Tech. (Pharm.) programmes:

Admission to these programmes will be through counseling. Counselling would be based on merit obtained by candidates in written test.

M.B.A. (Pharm.) programme (in NIPER, Hyderabad and S.A.S. Nagar) 

Admission to the M.B.A. (Pharm.) programme will be based on the combined merit obtained by a candidate in the written test, group discussion and interview. Weightage given for written test and group discussion & interview shall be in proportion of 85:15. The list of eligible candidates for this purpose will be made on the basis of merit obtained in the written test.
