National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship & Management (NIFTEM) is all set to organize an international level conference in January. Conference has been scheduled to be held on January 9, 2014. An exclusive level workshop has also been scheduled on January 11, 2014.

Topic of the conference is "Emerging Food Safety Risks: Challenges for Developing Countries". This conference is organized by Department of Basic and Applied Science.

The conference would bring together a unique selection of experts of food safety from all parts of the world with professionals from academia, government, NGOs and different industries to deliberate on the various aspects of Emerging Food Safety Risks and the necessary proactive steps that need to be taken by the developing countries.

Conference and workshop is open to all Professionals from various segments of the agro food processing industry entrepreneurs, policy makers and regulators from the Government departments, equipment & laboratory instrument manufacturers, consultants, university faculty, scientist from R&D Institutions, students.


Objectives of the conference:

• Facilitate interactions involving experts from academia, research and development institutions, food processing industries and the industry associations, MSMEs, SMEs, regulators, policy makers, chambers of commerce etc.

• Discuss trends observed in our society (e.g. trade, science, agriculture, climate, technology, political relations) and identify the effects these may have on the emergence of food safety risks for different regions in the world.

• Identify knowledge gaps and common interest for collaboration

 

The major areas of workshop would be:

• Global aspects of Food Safety

• Modern state of the art analytical technologies to ensure food safety & quality. Emerging food pathogens

• Microbiological methods for detection of various pathogenic micro-organism in food

• Quality system for ensuring safe food.
