In a faculty meeting, the Delhi University's Department of Commerce has approved the semester-based syllabi for the B. Com (H) programme and BA programme commerce papers. The new B.Com (H) course will comprise of 26 papers, instead of the original 22 and the B.Com programme will have 24 papers instead of 16 original papers. The faculty has also brought down the number of optional papers from 4 to 2.
K V Bhanumurthy, Head, Commerce and Business department said that the total workload will be maintained and the number of lectures will be more or less the same. He also added that some optional papers have been made compulsory now and all functional areas of management are now mandatory. The two new compulsory papers are International Business and Indirect Taxation.
