New Course at ISFM : PG diploma in film making at ISFM

The way forward for aspiring filmmakers, actors, producers, cinematographers and sound engineers has been made easier than ever before with PG Diploma in Filmmaking at the International School of Film and Media (ISFM).


The 10-month-long full time intensive programme at the institute, besides covering all aspects of filmmaking, will also place students in production houses, television studios and the like for a compulsory two-month-long internship.

“At the end of eight months, we will provide every student with an internship where they will gain real world experience.


They also have a chance to be placed in the same organisation based on their work during the internship and available openings,” said Kurt Inderbitzin, CEO of ISFM. “We will also have private job boards, besides networking and educational events, that are accessible by our graduates,” he added.


For those working or studying full time, the institute is also offering a 14-month-long part-time course.
The internship, however, is optional for students of this course.
Both programmes aim to introduce students to most vital aspects of filmmaking from both theoretical and practical standpoints.


The curriculum integrates study of major filmmaking disciplines such as screenwriting, direction, production, editing, sound, cinematography and acting.


In the programme, costing over Rs.4.3 lakh, students will also be provided with a Macbook Pro fully loaded with editing, sound-mixing, screenwriting, and producing software. “This will ensure that from the very first day that students arrive for their class, they can start working on all aspects of a film like writing, producing, shooting and editing,” explained Kurt.


The institute, founded by Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and the Akkineni family, is located within the 22 acre wide Annapurna Studios in the city.


The campus will offer 10 sound stages and permanent sets besides post-production facilities.
Admissions are open for the course in film making which will commence in November this year.
