JP Nadda, the Union Health Minister, is all set to reduce the qualification marks in the NEET-PG 2022 examination. He also said that the number of NEET-PG 2022 examination centres in the state will be increased.
Following the allotment of only two examination centres namely Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, the state government requested the centre to allot more test centres for the convenience of NEET-PG 2022 aspirants from Rayalaseema region.
Kamineni Srinivas, the Health Minister who called on the Union Health Minister in New Delhi on Monday, got an assurance from the latter.
Further, Srinivas said that Nadda promised to reduce the qualification marks for the NEET-PG 2022 exam and endorsed the matter to the officials of the Medical Council of India (MCI). Though Andhra Pradesh was the first state to raise the issue on reducing the NEET-PG qualification marks, the Centre’s decision will be beneficial to the students of all the 29 states.
A clarity regarding the reduced marks will come up before the commencement of the first phase of counselling. Srinivas added that the Union Minister also promised to set up another test centre for NEET-PG 2022 in Tirupati.
When asked about the construction of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) near Mangalgiri in the Guntur District, the Union Minister said that world-famous architects have already been invited and he will take it further after consulting the state government.
