Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has confirmed that National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Phase II examination will be conducted on July 24, 2022 as per the schedule defined earlier. With this, CBSE put the rumour mill to rest that was churning about changing the NEET-II exam date ever since a directive from Supreme Court (SC) of India on April 29, 2022 about considering NEET as the only exam to fill MBBS and BDS seats in government and private colleges in India.

Apart from this, SC also asked the government of India in the same directive to consider AIPMT 2022 test as NEET-I and to conduct NEET-II on July 24, 2022. With this directive, SC also gave CBSE an option to defer the NEET-II exam date, if preparations for the same are not possible by the said date. However, the SC directive was deferred by one year when Honorable President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, signed an ordinance put forth by the Indian Government.

The online registration for NEET Phase-II started on May 25, 2022 and ended on June 25, 2022. CBSE has asked all the candidates to check and make corrections in their online application forms, if required any, from June 27, 2022. Prospective candidates can do so until 11.59 PM on June 29, 2022 after which the option for the same will be scrapped.

Candidates need to be very careful about making changes in the online application form for NEET-II as no second chance will be given for corrections. CBSE will ensure the correctness of important data like signature, photograph and right-hand index finger impression of candidates. During the checking, if any of the details mentioned above isn’t found suitable and clear as per the CBSE standards, they will be deleted from the database.

To this effect, CBSE will send an e-mail and SMS on the registered mobile number of the candidate. Candidates are expected to upload the correct photograph within three days, as mentioned in the information bulletin, by logging into their accounts on the official website.  Once the corrections are done, candidates can save, take the print out of the slip and keep it for future reference/record.
