NCHMCT Ties Up With Switzerland Consultancy For Better Training

All of you out there who aspire to join the hospitality industry will now get professional guidance from Lausanne Hospitality Consultancy (LHC), a subsidiary of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, a Switzerland based hotel chain.

National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) has tied up with Lausanne Hospitality Consultancy (LHC) in order to upgrade the curriculum, train faculty and improve the infrastructure. The Minister of State for Tourism & Culture with Independent Charge, Shripad Naik made the announcement recently.

This will not only boost the Hospitality training sector but will also offer a global edge to all the students.

The LHC team has identified some key areas wherein they feel that NCHMCT’s institutes need to work on which are curriculum, faculty development, infrastructure, academic administration, student life and learning as well as health and safety at institutes.

National Council has identified 72 faculties from different institutes in India for the Faculty Development Programme. These faculty members will undergo training in six batches wherein 12 faculty members will be included in one batch. This training module of all the faculties will be completed in a two year period. The first batch of 12 faculties has already completed the training module.

Set up in 1982, NCHMCT is an autonomous body of the Government of India which was formed to coordinate the growth and development of hospitality education in the country. The Council regulates academic activities in the field of hospitality education and training that is imparted through 21 central government sponsored institutes of hotel management, 21 state government sponsored institutes, 15 private institutes and 7 food craft institutes of the country.
