NCERT NTSE Exam Pattern 2017 & Syllabus

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) conducts National Talent Scholarship Exam (NTSE) for class 10 students and awards scholarship to the deserving ones.

NTSE is conducted every year in in two stages i.e. Stage-I NTSE exam (to examine applicants’ ability on a state level) and Stage-II NTSE exam, which is conduction on a national level.

An applicant should’ve passed class 10th in order to be eligible for NTSE. Both government and private school students are eligible to appear for the scholarship exam.

While Stage-I NTSE exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 5, 6 and 13, 2022, Stage-II exam is slated to be held on 14th May, 2022.NTSE 2022 Exam

Stage-I NTSE Exam

The Stage-I NTSE exam is conducted by states/UTs on separate days. Every applicant needs to first appear for the exam on a state-level,  and then go for the national level stage-II examination.

Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Andaman & Nicobar will hold the exam on November 5, 2022.

West Bengal & Bihar will conduct the exam on November 13, 2022.

Students in other states will appear for the Stage –I exam on November 6, 2022.

Stage-II NTSE Exam

Only those who qualify the state level scholarship examination i.e. Stage-I NTSE exam 2022, will be allowed to appear for Stage-II NTSE exam.

This exam will be conducted on a single day to test candidates and for the NTSE scholarship.

NTSE 2022 Exam Pattern

The NTSE test paper is a written examination and divided into two papers for stage-I as well as stage-II scholarship exam.

• Mental Ability Test (MAT)
• Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Each test paper consists of objective-type questions and every wrong answer will cost  applicants 1 mark. .

However, there is no negative marking in Stage–I scholarship exam.
