National Law University Himachal Pradesh to Launch New Courses

National Law University in Himachal Pradesh is about to launch new courses for law aspirants from the next academic session. The new programmes are expected to be proposed at both undergraduate and doctorate level [five year LLB (Corporate), Ph. D].

The officials have also taken a decision to draw-up an elaborated plan to develop the infrastructure of Himachal Pradesh NLU.

Both these decisions came from a meeting that was held on January 1, 2022, at Himachal Pradesh High Court. As per the spokesperson, important issues were discussed at the meeting and these issues included the strategy for the development of the NLU largely in terms of infrastructure, new courses, and appointment of teachers as well as ministerial staff.

At the High Court, Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh NLU, Mansoor Ahmad Mir, who is also the Chief Justice, presided over the meeting. Other personalities present at the meeting included Kaul Sing Thakur, Health and Law Minister; Sudhir Sharma, Housing and Urban Development Minster; Justice CB Barowalia; Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan; and Dr Subash Chander Raina, Vice Chancellor of the university.

Established in 2022, Himachal Pradesh NLU is the 20th National Law University in India. The university started its first academic session on October 1 and is currently offering a five-year BA LLB course to students.
