National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology (NIFFT), Ranchi: Ph.D. admission 2013

National institute of Foundry and Forge Technology, Ranchi has invited applications for Ph.D and Advance Diploma Courses for 2013-14 session. Candidates who are interested can submit their candidature with duly filled application form on or before June 7, 2013.

Filled applications with all supporting documents may be sent to Dean (Academic), NIFFT, Hatia, Ranchi - 834 003.The application forms downloaded from the Institute website must be accompanied with the requisite application fee in the form of DD drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology payable at Ranchi. Candidates for Ph.D, desirous of applying for more than one Department should submit separate application with requisite application fee for each department.

Selection for Ph.D will be based on screening and interview. List of shortlisted candidates and the dates of screening test and/or interview will be announced later in the Institute website only. No postal communication will be sent in this regard. For ADC written test will be held at Ranchi (NIFFT) on July 7, 2013 (Sunday, 10.00 AM - 01.00 PM).

Seats are reserved as per Govt. of India rules.

Eligibility criteria for Ph.D

• M. E./M. Tech. from a recognized institute/university in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, Chemical, Industrial Engineering and allied disciplines with at least 6.5 CGPA (or 60% marks) in aggregate.

• OR

• B. E./B. Tech. or its equivalent from a recognized institute/university in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, Chemical, Industrial Engineering and allied disciplines with at least 7.5 CGPA (or 70% marks) in aggregate.

• OR

• M. Sc. or equivalent from a recognized institute/university in the relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA (or 60% marks) in aggregate.

• To be eligible for Institute scholarship, a valid GATE score/NET qualification is mandatory for candidates not possessing M. E. /M. Tech. degree.

For Advanced Diploma Courses (ADC)

• Diploma in Automobile / Metallurgical/ Mechanical/ Production / Manufacturing Engineering / B.Sc. degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% marks.

• In all programmes, a relaxation of 5% mark is allowed for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category.

• Those appearing in the final examination may also apply. However, such candidates will have to produce all the relevant documents within 60 days from the date of admission. No further extension will be allowed beyond the stipulated period under any circumstances and his/her admission will be cancelled.

• Few seats are available in ADC for sponsored candidates.
