M.S. and Ph.D. Programme in National Institute of Technology for Academic Year 2011-2012: Admission Notification

National Institute of Technology at Tiruchirappalli (NITT) is Engineering and Technology University. It offers outstanding technical education and research to provide valuable resources for society and industry. NITT offers various undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. programmes in Science, Engineering, Technology, Management and Architecture.   

NITT invites applications for admission to its M.S. and Ph.D. programmes for academic year 2011-2012 in following faculties:

1. Faculty of Engineering
2. Faculty of Architecture
3. Management Studies
4. Computer Applications
5. Faculty of Science & Humanities (Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English)

Eligibility

There is a different eligibility criterion for all the faculties:

Faculty of Engineering

You should have

1. Minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or PG with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in the appropriate branch of study for admission in OC or OBC category.
2. Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for admission in SC/ST category.

Faculty of Architecture

You should have

1. Minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or PG with Bachelors degree in Architecture / Planning and Master’s degree in Architecture / Design / Planning / Building Engineering and Management / Building Technology or its equivalent for admission under OC / OBC category.
2. Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for admission in SC/ST category.

Management Studies

You should have

1. Minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or PG with Master’s degree in Business Administration with valid NET/ UGC/ CAT/ AIMA for admission under OC / OBC category
2. Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for admission under SC/ST category
3. Minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or PG with Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering / Industrial Management for admission under OC / OBC category
4. Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for admission under SC/ST category.

Computer Applications

You should have

1. Minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or PG with Master’s degree in Computer Applications or M.Sc. (Computer Science/ OR&CA) with GATE / NET/ UGC / CSIR / NBHM score for OC / OBC category
2. Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST category.
3. Minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or PG with Master’s degree (M.E. /M.Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering for OC / OBC category.
4. Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST category.

Faculty of Science & Humanities (Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English)

You should have

1. Minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) with Master’s degree in Sciences / Humanities / Social Sciences in the relevant discipline and a valid GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET score for OC / OBC category.
2. Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 with a valid GATE / UGC / CSIR / NBHM / NET for SC/ST category.

Application Procedure

1. You can download application form and information brochure from official website of the National Institute of Technology at Tiruchirappalli (NITT).

2.You can send complete form with demand draft of RS. 300/- (Rs. 100 for SC/ST/Person with Disability) in favour of “Director, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli - 620 015” payable at “Tiruchirappalli”.
