Dr. Deepti Sharma, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Applied Science, Manav Rachna International University, MRIU got the opportunity to visited Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland in March 2015 for a one week program to teach Yoga Therapeutic Techniques in Finland.
This exchange program aimed to promote exchange of the latest information from the fields of Yoga science while also nurturing and improving the practical skills of students involved in various areas of Health.
The highlight of the program was the use of various forms of Yoga in treating Musculoskeletal, Neurological, and Cardiopulmonary disorders along with which knowledge was also shared on the use of Asanas in Pregnancy.
- “I felt that doing Asanas in this way, repeating and holding breath in some of them were good for my back. I am going to do my morning practice like we did asanas here.”
- “I am getting more motivated and energetic to keep up working with yoga and own health.”
- Telling about her experience in Finland Dr. Deepti Sharma said, “I had an opportunity to delve into Finnish culture, their education system and lifestyle. Finland is a beautiful Scandinavian country. The landscapes are awesome with snow all around at this time of the year. Finnish people are very warm and helpful by nature”.
