MHRD to Appoint Directors at Six New IITs: Application Invited

As per the official notification from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) India, six directors are to be appointed at the new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). MHRD has invited the applications for the same and posts will be filled up at six new IITs that include IIT Bhilai-Durg, Tirupati, Jammu, Palakkad, Dharwad and Goa.

Aspirants who wish to apply for the posts of director at any of the IITs mentioned above should not be over 60 years of age and a minimum of five years experience in research, teaching and administration is essential other than a significant experience in research and guiding Ph.D aspirants.  

The educational qualification for the post of director at any of the new IITs will be Ph.D with first class or equivalent preferably in any of the engineering branch. Candidates with mathematics, science or management degrees may also be considered in exceptional cases.

Candidates need to type the application on a plain paper with enclosure and the envelope containing the application should have “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DIRECTORS OF SIX NEW IITs” written in bold at the top. They need to send the applications across through registered post/speed post at the following address:

Fully filled application forms should reach at the address provided above before May 31, 2022 and a copy of the same should also be sent to councilofiits@gmail.com electronically.

Out of total six new IITs that MHRD has invited applications for the post of director, four IITs including IIT Jammu, IIT Goa, IIT Chhattisgarh and IIT Karnataka will start their classes from the academic session 2022-17. With the addition of these four new IITs, the total number IITs in India is now 23.
