Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra has released a notification stating that from now onward, Aadhar card will be a mandatory document during MHCET 2022 Counselling process that will be conducted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP). For the year 2022-18, Aadhar number will be considered as an identification proof of candidates.
Candidates preparing for their MHCET 2022 counseling procedures will need to carry aadhar card along with a list of important documents as their identity proof. The list includes
- Aadhar Card (number)
- Caste/Tribe Validity certificate
- Non-creamy layer certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Income certificate
Candidates may note that failing to bring any of the abovementioned documents will lead to cancellation of application. You will need to carry original as well as photocopies of these documents to the counseling venue without fail.
MHCET 2022 is slated to be conducted on May 11, 2022, while application forms will be available only by last week of December 2022 or first week of January (tentative). Over four lakh candidates register for MHCET for admission to B.Tech and B.E. programmes across the participating institutes.
MHCET Not Mandatory for All-India Quota Students
Another major development on MHCET 2022 is that it would not be mandatory for All-India Quote students. Not all the aspirants aiming for admissions to Maharashtra engineering colleges through 15 percent all-India quota seats need to appear for MHCET anymore. Read more about it here! (link)
