MD/MS/PG Diploma Admission 2014 at CMC, Ludhiana

The Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admission to the following MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for the year 2014:

PG Degree:

MD: Anaesthesia, General Medicine, Microbiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Radiodiagnosis, Radiotherapy, Social and Preventive Medicine/ Community Medicine, Biochemistry, Dermatology; MS: Anatomy, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery

PG Diploma:

Anaesthesiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Child Health, Radio-Diagnosis, Radiotherapy

Eligibility Criteria

For all candidates: The candidate must be an Indian National (For NRI candidates, with reference to Nationality)

• A candidate who holds MBBS degree from a medical college recognized by MCI or a foreign medical degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship
• An Indian National who qualified from a Foreign University/School must produce an eligibility certificate recognizing the qualifying examination as equivalent to MBBS as recognized by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and the Medical Council of India
• A candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign Medical degree recognized by MCI) is undergoing 12 month compulsory internship/practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31st Mar 2014 can take the examination.
• Service obligation: An applicant, who is expected to complete the service obligation in lieu of Sponsorship (for MBBS/PG-Diploma) by 31st Mar 2014, may apply

For NRI Candidates

• Non-Resident Indian (NRI): An Indian Citizen who stays abroad for employment/carrying on business, to pursue a vocation outside India or under circumstances indicating an intent ion for an uncertain duration of stay abroad is a non-resident. (Persons posted in U.N. organizations and officials deputed abroad by Central/State Governments and Public Sector undertakings on temporary assignments are also treated as non-residents)
• Non-resident foreign citizens of Indian Origin are treated on par with non-resident Indian citizens (NRIs) for the purpose of certain facilities.

Admission Test

Admission to the above mentioned courses will be provided through an entrance examination which will be conducted on 16th February 2014 (Sunday) from 01.00 p.m. to 04.00 p.m. at Kolkata, Kochi, Ludhiana and New Delhi.

Test Structure

The Total marks for the written test will be 300

Written Test (AWT) Maximum marks: 200; Time: 1pm- 4pm
This will be a common written examination for postgraduate diploma and degree courses, consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions from the MBBS syllabus, carrying one mark each
There is no negative marking
Minimum passing marks: 50%

Merit List: The Merit lists will be prepared on the basis of the total of the following marks (300 marks) obtained by the applicant
i) Written Test (Maximum Marks: 200)
ii) Viva Voce (Maximum Marks: 50)
iii) Additional marks, if any (Maximum Marks: 50)

Admission Written Test Centres

The written test will be held on Sunday, 16th Feb 2014 from 1pm to 4pm at Kolkata, Kochi, Ludhiana and New Delhi

Fee Structure

Fees for PG Diploma/Degree Courses:

Degree: Rs.398,000

Degree (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry): Rs.200,000

PG Diploma: Rs.225,000

NRI (Total Course Fee)* US$ 125,000

The online application form, duly completed must be submitted online by 6th February 2014

The Application form and Form 99 must then be printed, filled and sent along with enclosures and fee Application number generated on submission of online form must be quoted on the Application Form-(Form 100)

Completed application forms are to be sent to The Registrar’, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana-141008 which must be submitted by 7th Feb 2014 (5PM)
