MCI: Final syllabus for NEET 2013: Common Medical Entrance Test

The first-ever National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses across the country will be held on 5th May 2013 , the CBSE announced on 12 Sep 2012.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) on Friday (4^th Nov 2011) released the final syllabus for the first-ever common entrance test for undergraduate medical courses to be known as NEET-UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Under Graduate) .

NEET 2013 Dates

The exam has been scheduled for 5th May 2013.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) recommended this syllabus for NEET after reviewing various state syllabi as well as those prepared by CBSE, NCERT and COBSE.  This was to establish uniformity across the country keeping in view the relevance of different areas in medical education.

Now students who take this test will be able to apply to all government and private medical colleges in the country for UG courses in medicine i.e. MBBS.
So far, students had to appear in several national and state level entrance tests (at least 17) for admissions to various medical colleges.
