MBA, MCA, MEd in remote parts of India..!

A  University named  “SIDO – KANHU MURMU UNIVERSITY” which is located in the remote areas of DUMKA has introduced vocational  courses  which in the near future will be beneficial for the students of such cities / towns.

SIDO- Kanhu Murmu University is situated in the remotest of the remote areas  of Jharkhand state . This is the only University of Santal Pargana region . Prof (Dr.) M Basheer Ahmed Khan ,The Dean of School of Management of Pondichery University had started working in the direction to provide quality and job oriented education to the stutents of the poor and tribal areas. He emphasized the need of the vocational education so the students get a job to improve the quality of their lives. Many courses on the post graduate level have been introduced.  To name a few – MBA, MCA and M.Ed . These Courses will generate employment in backward areas, this will increase the job opportunities for a number of people  . The Univ. departments are getting heavy response from the students. Now the students will have better carreer options as well.

Many job oriented courses at the level of undergraduate programmes have also been introduced to name a few this college offers courses like B.Tech, Mass Communication and Journalism , Library and Information science, Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Theatre Arts(BTA), Fashion Designing, Environmental Science, Bio-Technology, BBA and BCA. Option of choosing the campus is given and assured by the Vice Chancellor of the college.

UGC sponsored National Seminar  and  symposia are being organized by the various colleges and Departments. Department of Political science , S P College Dumka has taken a lead and  is organizing a National Symposia on the eve of International Women’s Day  i.e 08 march 2011.The topic of the symposium is “The status of women in India” . The Vice-Chancellor has also constituted different committees on University level to promote academic and other activities. The Vice Chancellor  said that our ultimate aim is to get accreditation from NAAC for the S K M University. The  Vice Chancellor has introduced the semester system in the post graduate department of the university and is planning to introduce it in the undergraduate department too. He has also introduced CBCS ( Choice Based Credit System) in the university . S K M U taken the lead to introduce this system in Jharkhand . In this system students have greater choice to complete their respective degree. The whole scenario of the University campus is going to be changed.  

This is a great step taken in regard to introducing courses like MBA , MCA, Med. etc in cities like Dumka which is situated in Jharkhand.Since everbody has the Right to Education not only students in metropolitian cities should be educated but also the students who are residing in the remote parts of our country should be given the same opportunities.
